Background:
Monique Parrish, Founder and Director of LifeCourse Strategies, has over 20 years of experience in the fields of social work and public health. Much of her professional work has been dedicated to the development of programs and services for the elderly. Under Dr. Parrish's direction, the mission of LifeCourse Strategies is to assist aging and long-term care organizations build bridges from concept to practice to promote quality programs and services for older adults and their families.
Dr. Parrish began her career as a Peace Corps health volunteer in the Central African Republic. Since that time she has worked in a variety of venues providing clinical and managerial support services to older adults and their families in the areas of traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer's disease, and strokes. Dr. Parrish has also worked on multiple statewide aging and long-term care initiatives in California and provided public policy, research, and education consulting services on cognitive impairment and caregiving to the California Department of Mental Health.
Dr. Parrish received her Master of Public Health and Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University and her Doctorate in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley. She is the author of numerous journal articles and has lectured widely throughout the United States on aging and caregiving issues.
